Colossians 2:6-8

Hi, my beloved brothers & sisters!

I wanted to send out a bit of encouragement & Scripture for y’all to meditate on as y’all go about your ways this week. We need to remember that our lives are not our own, but God’s…and we should strive to bring Him glory through our daily routines rather than walk through our normal tasks focused on what WE need/want to and what WE need/want to get done, etc. Our God, who breathed the sparkling heavens, delights in having intimacy with us! Isn’t that amazing that the holy uncreated One desires us? Let’s persevere to serve Him and walk freely according to His purposes for our lives.

Colossians 2:6-8 says,
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ (NIV).

God’s power extends over EVERYthing! Our own ways are empty (and end up falling apart) without Him. Let’s seek His fullness each moment of each day & not fall captive to the ways of this world. Christ is our foundation; we need to strive to grow in Him and construct our lives around Him…instead of constructing Him around our busy lives.

‘Til kingdom come,
Stephani

Wow, just what I needed to hear in this moment!!! I need to agressively surrender to God, and not just say I'm depending on Him. His love is so amazing, I don't know why we resist so much.

Wow...thanks stephI really appreciate those strong words that are true. It is so humbling to recognize God's desiring us. So often we hear all about His supremacy and sovreignty. Some use His sovreignty to the extent that they remove His unbelievable LOVE for us. He doesn't NEED us at all...true...but He desires us in an unfathamoble way...astounding. Thanks for stopping my heart with these thoughts. Let's stand in awe!

Thank you so much Stephani for the wonderful Scriptures and your encouraging words. I especially liked what you said about us needing to construct our lives around Him…instead of constructing Him around our busy lives. And how we should strive to Give HIM glory instead of focusing on what WE want and need. WOW! It "hurts so good"! Meaning that it hurts to hear, but it's a good hurt. :-D
Thank you again Stephani!

May God richly bless you all!

I've gotten on this blog a few times this week... but didn't actually get to read thru your whole post (due to distractions, etc)... but, Steph, this is EXACTLY what I needed to hear. Thank you for the encouragement/challenge. Amen, sister. So true. It's what the Lord has been pressing on my heart this whole week... as I keep trying to "schedule Him in"... ditto to Car's "it hurts so good". AMEN!

God's abundant blessings,
Beth
